## What uPVC spraying is and who it's for
uPVC spraying is the process of cleaning, preparing and spray-coating existing uPVC window frames, doors, conservatories, fascias and other fixtures with a specialist coating. It changes the colour and refreshes the surface while keeping the frames you already have.

It's for homeowners who like their windows and doors but not their colour, people modernising a property's outside look, and anyone whose white uPVC has turned yellow, chalky or patchy. It's also used on commercial frontages and inside, on uPVC fixtures that no longer match a new scheme.

People usually consider it when the frames still work well but look dated, when they want a modern colour such as grey or black, or when they're renovating the rest of the outside and want everything to match.

This is specialist work. A good result depends on thorough cleaning, correct preparation, careful masking of glass, seals and hardware, and the right coating applied with proper spray equipment. Done badly, it can peel or look uneven. Done properly by an experienced decorator, it gives a smooth, factory-style finish.

## What goes wrong with tired uPVC, and with poor spraying
Leaving uPVC to discolour, or trying the wrong fix, often makes things worse.

### Yellowing and chalking
Older white uPVC can discolour and turn chalky over time. Cleaning helps a little, but the surface won't go back to its original colour on its own.

### Mismatched outside
New doors next to old frames, or a newly painted house with dated windows, makes the property look unfinished.

### Replacement costs
Replacing working windows and doors just to change their colour is expensive and disruptive, and adds frames to landfill.

### DIY and cheap spray jobs
Ordinary paint on uPVC, or spraying without proper cleaning and masking, often leads to peeling, overspray on glass and seals, and a finish that has to be stripped and redone.

## uPVC spraying in detail
What can be sprayed, and what affects the result.

### Windows and frames
Casement, sash-style and tilt-and-turn uPVC frames can all be resprayed. The glass, rubber seals and hardware are masked so only the frame is coated.

### Front, back and patio doors
Doors and their frames can be sprayed to match or contrast with windows. Front doors are often the first thing people change to update a property's kerb appeal.

### Conservatories, fascias and soffits
Conservatory frames, uPVC fascias, soffits and bargeboards can be resprayed so the whole outside of the property is consistent.

### Interior uPVC fixtures
Some uPVC fittings inside the home, such as window boards and interior faces of frames, can be sprayed to suit a new decorating scheme.

### Colour choices
Modern greys, blacks, creams and other colours are popular. We can help you choose a colour that suits the brickwork, roof and surroundings of your property.

### Homes vs commercial frontages
On homes, the focus is kerb appeal and minimal disruption. On shops and offices, spraying is a cost-effective way to refresh a frontage or match a brand colour without replacing frames.

## Is uPVC spraying right for your property?

### When spraying makes sense
uPVC spraying is a good fit when your windows and doors still open, close and seal well, but you don't like how they look. If the frames are discoloured, dated or simply the wrong colour for the look you want, spraying lets you keep them and change the appearance.

If frames are failing mechanically, for example with broken hinges, failed seals or misted double glazing, those issues need fixing separately. On the free visit we'll look at the condition of your frames and tell you honestly whether spraying is the right option.

### Why preparation decides the result
uPVC is smooth and non-porous, which means coatings can't simply soak in. A long-lasting finish depends on thorough cleaning to remove dirt, grease and residue, followed by proper preparation so the coating can bond. Skipping these steps is the main reason cheap jobs peel.

Masking is just as important. Glass, rubber seals, handles, hinges, brickwork and sills all need to be protected so only the frame is coated. Careful masking is what gives clean lines and avoids overspray.

### Choosing a colour
Greys and blacks are popular for a modern look, while creams and softer shades suit older properties. The right colour depends on your brickwork or render, roof tiles, front door and the look of the street. It can help to look at similar homes nearby or to consider how the colour will look alongside freshly painted walls and fascias.

We can help you choose a colour that works with the rest of the outside of your home, and combine spraying with exterior painting so everything is refreshed together.

### Weather and timing
Exterior spraying needs suitable dry conditions. We plan outside work around the weather and will let you know if dates need to move. Interior uPVC fixtures can be sprayed at most times of year.

Like all our work, uPVC spraying is quoted individually after a free visit and all completed work is guaranteed.

### What to expect while your upvc spraying is underway
Before any upvc spraying begins, we agree the scope, the order of work and a realistic timescale with you, so you know which rooms or areas will be affected and when. Floors, furniture and fixtures are protected before work starts, and the work area is kept as tidy as possible throughout, with a clean-up at the end of the job.

Our working hours are 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. If anything unexpected comes up once surfaces are exposed, such as hidden damage behind old paper or paint, we'll explain it to you before going further, so there are no surprises on the final bill.

When the work is finished, we walk through it with you and put right anything you're not happy with. Smaller jobs are paid on completion. Larger jobs are paid according to the deposit and payment schedule agreed at the start. All completed work is guaranteed.

### Why choose A&S Decorators for upvc spraying
A&S Decorators was set up by Ashley Power around 16 years ago, backed by more than 25 years in the trade. It started as a two-person team and has grown steadily through long-term client relationships and repeat work across Cheshire and South Manchester. When you book upvc spraying with us, you're dealing with an established local business rather than an anonymous contractor.

The key difference is that we handle the preparation trades most decorators have to subcontract: plastering, small joinery and specialist uPVC spraying. That means fewer people in your property, no waiting between trades, and one point of contact from the free visit to the finished job.

Ashley is City & Guilds qualified, we carry £2 million public liability insurance, and all completed work is guaranteed. We can supply all paints and materials and help with colours, or work with materials you supply. For larger jobs, we bring in extra decorators to shorten the timescale and keep disruption to a minimum.
